UPCOMING GIGS & events

Basjia's 30th x The pyramid

FRI, 13th December 2024 7:00 pm

Disco, Soul, House, Funk and more are the genres of the night and we are going to celebrate the night in full theme, come dressed up inspired by the glamour and glitzz of 70s and 80s fashion & style, there will even be a soul train moment included to show off your fabulous fit!

Held this time at The Chippo Hotel Underground, come watch and celebrate our beautiful and talented line-up and shower them in love and TIPS!

Named after the Frank Ocean song 'Pyramids' this night is dedicated to QTBIPOC dancers, royalty, deities, ethereal beings and everything in between. Here at the Pyramid we offer a sexy space for queer people and bipoc people to strip, tease and dance whilst being showered with tipping dollars, love and appreciation. Here in 'so called Australia' these places may not always exist so this is what we are hoping to cultivate this year at The Pyramid.

Tipping $$ will be sold at the door, and are a must if you wish to attend and watch and are available to re-purchase throughout the evening to make sure you continue to make it rain on our dancers. Private Shows will also be offered $50 per show with your fav dancer.

There will be phenomenal DJ's and bar, the venue is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible but we hope our next Mardi Gras edition will offer this.

Tickets are Free for Mob please just ask for discount code, and discounted for any S/w attending (please ask for code).

The Pyjama Sundayz are getting the band back together. And this time, it’s personal...

While the band was broken up, they rediscovered their love for instruments, and penned a comeback album in a remote cabin far away from the bright lights and sounds of Sydney. As the mist clears and the new dynasty of the band begins, an album of instant-classic stadium-rock hits awaits their feverish fans. A tribute to the momentousness of the comeback: 'Modus Opus'.

As an end of year celebration, the music band will perform many new songs at The Chippo on Friday 20 December for $10 a ticket. Joined by Sonnet and The BREADBOYS, LaLa, and a surprise ‘other’ act, this is not one to miss…

Dave Graney and Clare Moore released two albums in 2024. The first was (strangely)(emotional), an exotic, lyrical album that involved interior dimenions of memory of family and time and place . Journeying through inner and outer worlds with jazz voicings, vibes, keys, guitars and harp.  A very much Covid era influenced work, including the affectionate blues Poor Covid.

The second was the hot and sprawling I Passed Through Minor Chord In A Morning which was an auto harped, cut and pasted, improvised, deep fried, distorted hip hop beaten affair that came with  a t shirt.

Dave Graney and Clare Moore promise more releases and shows in 2025. When they play, they bring a vast songbook and bring it to life with vibes, keys, guitars, voices and rhythm machines.  Don’t miss out. Its never like anybody else.

For this show they will also be performing with Clare Moore on drums and Sydney musics man of mystery Greg Thorsby on bass.
